Special Commissions :
2003 Bench/hampton court
In July 2003, we were approached by garden furniture manufactures,
Samson Furniture, to work with garden designer Stephanie Willcox, for a
bench representing the human spine. The bench was to be the centre
piece of the SAUK Ereisma Garden (Scoliosis Association (UK)) at the
Hampton Court Flower Show. The bench was constructed of treated pine
and flexi-board was utilized to create the curved profile. It was
constructed in our workshops and made in two sections for
transportation, and bolted together on-site. The bench was highlighted
in the National press with Olympics’ sprinter, Lynford Christie lying
on it. The garden won a Bronze Award.

2003 Mediate Project
During 2003/2004 we were approached by AV Consultancy firm Show
Connections to assist in designing and building a sectional floor space
as part of the Mediate Project. This was a European initiative with
the aim of the project to design, produce, build and validate an
intelligent, immersive, multisensory, interactive environment that
reacts to the unique user, and allows that user to create expressions
of their own sensory experience creations, which can be replayed and
communicated to others. Working with audio engineers and University
professors, alongside media consultants and legendry audio consultant
Ron Geesin, we not only built the floor panels but also contributed to
many other aspects of the project.

2004 Fuel/energy static art displays
In 2004 we were commissioned to make three exceptionally large flight
cases to protect the large exhibition pieces designed by Hangin Art for
BP as part of a worldwide mobile exhibition representing the various
forms of energy. Not only were the cases made in our workshops but we
also working with bespoke furniture designer Jon Woodrow, managed the
manufacture of the finished pieces and assisted in final fittings and
modifications.
